UWV “Werkfit maken” (Work Fit) coaching for internationals in the Netherlands
Have you been signed off sick from work and are you receiving a UWV benefit? If you’re starting to feel ready to think about work again—slowly and realistically—UWV can offer support through the “Werkfit maken” (Work Fit) programme.
Werkfit maken is a UWV re-integration trajectory for people who are not yet ready to return to work or start job applications, but can take steps towards work or training. The focus is on building a solid foundation: daily structure, sustainable capacity, confidence, and practical work skills.
Who is Werkfit for?
Werkfit is commonly offered to people with a UWV benefit, such as:
-
Ziektewet (ZW) – Sickness Benefit
-
WIA (especially WGA) – work capacity-related benefit
-
Wajong – disability benefit (young disabled persons)
Not sure whether you qualify? Ask your UWV contact person whether “Werkfit maken” is appropriate for your situation.
Werkfit in English (with cultural awareness)
If you’re an international, returning to work can be extra complex: language, Dutch workplace culture, communication style, and how to present your experience in a new labour market. At Orange Expats, we understand that context.
I deliver UWV Werkfit trajectories in English (and with a culturally informed approach) under Agathon (contracted by UWV). Together we translate your situation into realistic next steps—without pressure and without rushing.
Ask UWV for this support
You can use this sentence with UWV:
“I would like to discuss whether I qualify for a Werkfit maken trajectory and whether English coaching at Orange Expats (under Agathon umbrella) is possible.”
